When Peter asks how many times he has to forgive, Jesus answers with a number so huge it exposes the truth: on our own, forgiveness is impossible to sustain. Then Jesus tells a story of a servant forgiven an unpayable debt who still refuses to forgive a tiny one—showing how naturally we cling to hurt, pride, and payback. In Exodus 12, God gives Israel the Passover—His defining act of rescue.
